What do you think is a cause for eating disorders in males and females?

Are eating disorders caused by the media outlets constantly telling society that "thin is in"?

Are eating disorders caused by low self-esteem (possibly produced by bullying) and depression?

All of the above, society, personal problem, personal preference, none of the above are all possible reasons, the human mind can be random, and strange, never try to generalize, you'll almost always be wrong if you say something is always this way or that way

It's the pressure of society. The social media is so easy to spread now that literally everyone can pick and chose what they are attracted to. Generally it's big boobs, tight body, six pack, and the list goes on. Think about 100 years ago or even 1000 or whatever, people only knew who they were close too, which means the people they were around were the expectations that the men and women had. So think of today's world, where you see thousands of images of all kinds of attractive people from around the world and you see every single aspect of beauty, now you are trying to match and compensate those people . So it's like you against the world and the depression gets bigger and bigger as our world grows a taste for certain attraction. It's very unhealthy and will hit a breaking point.

Try and be an individual and be comfortable with yourself. At least try.
