Facebook notification for anniversary won't display?

For our first year anniversary, I was happy to receive the facebook notification that sat on the right side of the screen a few days prior to my anniversary with my partner. For our second year, it did not show up and yet again this year, it has also not shown up. I was wondering what may have caused this? I haven't changed any details of our relationship or anything. Just was a nice cute reminder to wake up too as I anticipated our big day!
