Help With Biblical Timeline?
I need a website or something that can give me important dates for biblical history. I need the information to range from Birth dates to just important dates. Example: Around the year Noah was born or died. When did the kingdom Israel divide?
Thanks for your help. I don't want you guys to answer the examples. They are just examples. I am mainly looking for a site or something that would have information relevant to what I'm trying to do. Ads |

Here, try this one:
http://tinyfrog.files.wordpress.com/2007...eline3.png It's useful because it compares the "bible timeline" to that shown correct by archeology and other sciences. ![]() |

To be honest, I don't think we can find an exact date for Moses or Noah, or even David, Samuel, Sampson or any such. What we can say is that at some point the kingdom of Israel did divide. Then:
* in 722 BC - the Northern Kingdom of Israel was attacked by the Assyrians and scattered. They never returned to their homes and mated with the locals, thus creating the Samaritans. * In 590--580 BC - the Babylonians invaded the Souther Kingdom of Israel (Judah) and subjugated its people. * Ten years later, Judah was allowed to return to Jerusalem and they rebuilt the Temple of God. About 400 years later, Jesus turned up and claimed to have fulfilled the Bible at several points. I'm not sure you want a further detail than this, I think it covers the basics of ancient beliefs. |

Here is a "creation time-line" from an old-earth perspective.
http://www.reasons.org/articles/creation-timeline Birth dates are more difficult. Bishop James Ussher created a time-line based on the genealogies of Genesis (which is what many time-lines you will probably receive create), but there a problems with the assumptions and interpretations built into them. per this article: http://www.reasons.org/articles/from-noa...ure-part-1 Some dates (David's reign, Israel's division, Abraham's life ) should be readily researchable. |
