Do you still get text notifications if you delete the facebook app?

If you sign up to get text notifications from the facebook app (a text when someone comments on a picture or sends you a message), do you still get the notifications if you delete the app? Or do you need to have the app to get the notifications?

You instruct FB to send notification to your mobile (text messaging), is that right?

Then Facebook will send you that per your instruction. It doesn't care what device or apk or web you use to access Facebook when you instruct it, FB just note down your instruction.
