Hi there, just wondering is it rude to remove your neighbor out of your Facebook?

I have just friend requested one of my neighbor that haven't met for almost 20 years and, we used to be enemies also. We used to have a little arguing in the past ( but we already solved the problem and talked to each other normal after that ). However, we are neighbours, but we both never used to talk to each other more than 3 times back then. So, after we became friends on Facebook, she started to click like on my pictures or status once in a while. One thing I have noticed was she has never ever like to start any conversation with me first, I was the one who always did. I started to talk to her through Facebook msn for like 3 times in the first month we became friends, everything went smooth each time we talked. I then decided to stop being the first person who start any conversation first, so I began to wait and see if she would show any interest to talk to me first this time. One year of waiting, still haven't seen anything from her. So, I now I decided to remove her of my Facebook list as it looks like she has no interesting to be my friend but stranger. I am not sure if she still upset with me about what happened in the last 20 years or what? Well, I only hope she is mature enough to understand that was completely her mistake and we both also apologised each other already. I also hope she could understand if I don't count her as one of my friend I would never sent her my friend request. Im so regret right now shouldn't sent her friend request at all. However, one of my close friend ( also her friend ) keeps telling me; no matter what I shouldn't remove her out as its quite rude and to avoid any awkward situation in the future if i meet her in real life one day. I really confused now can anyone help please.

Facebook allows you to do 2 things: unfriend her w/o letting her know or block your friend from seeing any of your activities, info, photos, updates, alerts,.... It's easy to do. Click on your Facebook account setting. It has a whole bunch. I think it is under security or privacy??? Sorry, I am not a frequent FB user (log in only if someone sends me a message) but I had done it before & also my friend did it to me

Why on earth did you friend this person in the first place? I'd recommend unfriending or blocking, because unless they're actively typing in your name to go to your profile, they won't notice. If you block, they can't try to message or find you either.
