Is this a puggle that I adopted?
We adopted Fiji at the shelter a month ago- they said she was a puggle- but after looking at other photos of puggles; I don't feel she really looks like one. I see the similarities. But her eyes aren't buldgey and her ears aren't that long and floppy. They said she came from puerto rico. Here are some images:

When you have a litter of mutts, each and every one in the litter could look very different. You could have a beagle/pug mix, or it could have other mutts in there as well.

Yes she is a probably pug beagle. She might be mixed with some other breeds, maybe. You never know. She seems very cute.

I just looked at another pic and she has almost chihuahua/beagle-ish ears.

Looks like a chihuahua/pug mix not a pug/beagle mix
Please don't call it the BYB 'designer' name, it means you support those scummy people

Whatever she is she's cute. And she's got pug in her. Just love her. I get my animals at the shelter and they are always the best pets ever. And yours is neat since it came from Puerto Rico. Are you sure it's not just a Dominican dog trying to get its green card by entering the US through Puerto Rico.

My system doesn't want to open these pix. without me doing all kinds of stuff which I'm not going to do. Suffice to say that as a 'puggle' isn't a breed but a mix-bred animal, there is no Breed Standard. So even litter mates can, and will look quite different depending on wich set of genes each has taken.

If you had wanted to know what your puppy would be like as an adult, then you should have bought a purebred puppy, which is the whole point about buying into purebred animals vs mix-bred animals.

But whatever she is, or isn't, you will still luv her won't you!!

You don't have a purebred dog - you have a mix. And since its a mutt/mix there is no standard as to what the combination is supposed to look like. Each one is different. You have a Pug-Beagle mix and it looks like it does because that is the genes it got from each parent.

MOST important thing is to spay/neuter, train well and love the dog.....no matter how it ends up looking when full grown. Don't go by other pictures of mutts!

You do realize that "puggles" are mutts, right? There is no breed standard for mixes.

Pugs have a breed standard and a specific appearance. Beagles have a breed standard and a specific appearance. Mixes look like any sort of combination. A "puggle" can look mostly beagle, mostly pug, or any point in between.

I am willing to bet that that is in fact a Puggle. I have a 6 year old puggle and she looks exactly like thta. Hang on to your patience...you're going to need it. Puggles are very fun and cute dogs, but they are high maintenance. Our Puggle ate the legs of our furniture, ate the baseboard moldings, the carpeting, etc. SHe chewed everything. We finally got her a playmate when she was 1 and that helped. Good luck
