How can I un-filter instagram photos from my computer?

I posted a picture on instagram, but now I want to remove it, edit it on my computer, and re-post it.

Apparently you tap the 3 dots ... next to the photo and it brings up a menu where you can choose to delete the photo, see the link, under "Editing and deleting"

It is likely that if you did not keep a "good" copy of the image on your computer, you can't "un-filter" as the filter destroys detail and you can't get it back - photos do not hold a good copy and apply the filter when viewed.
