No, most of those people here are in jail for hacking.
A guy just got sentenced to 10 years for computer
hacking.

The best rout is always to talk with Facebook support (found here: https://www.facebook.com/help/ ). Taking action against an account you own is still illegal. The support staff should be able to help you.
Things to check for/try:
- Did you send a password change request to the email or phone number attached to the account?
- Does an old computer or cell phone still have the account password stored? If so, you can log in on that device to recover the account.
- Ask a friend to log in for you. You can then access the photos and download them.

Hacking is illegal and anyone with a brain won't help you with this. Besides, Facebook has one of the best security systems around, so hacking would be next to impossible. So, when you say you were hacked, it was probably by someone you know who could have either guessed at your password, or, who was near your computer when you left the room with your open Facebook. It could also have happened if you use public wi-fi without protection. Same holds true for your phone.

I also find it ridiculous that you would use Facebook to "store" 5,000 pictures. The smart thing to do would be to just save them to your computer, or to a CD.

Looks like you're out of luck on this one. Next time, be smarter.
