People don't have enough confidence and fb is the way they can get attention (eg likes) pretty much their live revolves around celebrity life style which they want to imitate that's why they constantly check twitter etc

i hardly ever do anything on facebook anymore, except just check posts on my home feed by economist magazine, and TIME etc. there's good shiz posted there.
