Why is "he's an engineer" an excuse for bad social skills?
My boss is a bit socially awkward, and I've heard my coworkers discuss it. At one point, someone said "What do you expect? He's an engineer."

That also happened when the CEO asked me to use my creativity for some marketing stuff. He said he and my boss couldn't think of anything because "we're engineers."

Why is being an engineer associated with lack of creativity and poor social skills?
I went to a 4-year university as well. Granted, my major was in the humanities, but I knew engineering majors and they still had plenty of time to party.

Do you even know how hard it is to become an engineer?? You have to spend many hours studying for exams and do well on projects. Most engineers did not have the time to spend hanging out with friends and learning social norms like other people who are not as educated. That's why they say "we're engineers." I know this sounds harsh, but its the truth. sorry

It has been posited (by experts in the humanities) that a large percent of engineers have at least a touch of Asperger's syndrome.

Science and maths etc are the core of engineering. Just because they are "science nerds" and stereotypically, people who are good at science and maths are considered to be "nerdy" and are therefore said to lack social skills. It's just a stereotype. Merry Christmas!

It's 'management BS', basically to create high-paid non-jobs, 'managers' have create 'specialty-jobs' that take a very 1-dimensional approach to skill, and talent.

It's the disease of current businesses, Management layers take up 60% of the money in companies, and contribute -15% on average, which means you can literally fire most managers, and turn a profit, have a better functioning company, and a better future.

Problem is though, Bosses, and other Managers spend all day, every day brainwashing each other how needed they are, in finding 'specialty-jobs'.
