Telling others your a brony?

So I just finished a show called my little pony friendship is magic and enjoyed it immensely. I have never told anyone I like or watch the show, no one know I like mlp they think I am ultra manly man. I don't really like that and would much prefer to hang out with people who watch mlp, sure I like other TV shows like breaking bad but I don't want I hang out with people who like breaking bad because it is over. I want to tell my mom, dad, friends that I love mlp but I am not insecure I just think everyone will be confused because I was like super ultra manly man now to a person who likes mlp. Also I am not gay I just like the show mlp. So sorry for going kinda deep but does anyone have any advice, thanks. Also I just want answers with advice for bronys or people who have had similar experiences. Please no brony haters or people who say just don't tell anyone because I do want to tell people eventually.

One of my closest friends is a brony, and I think it's awesome. I found out when he changed his cover photo and profile picture on facebook to pictures of MLP. You could start with just changing your cover photo to a picture of mlp, and when people ask you about it, be like "No, I'm not joking. I actually like this show a lot". I don't think there's anything wrong with expressing what you like, but I totally understand where you're coming from. You just have to own it and as people say, haters gonna hate. If you truly like this show a lot, then just express your feelings. If people can't accept it, then too bad for them because that means they can't accept a part of who you are.

There are clubs and meetings for Bronys who meet up every week just to hang out and discuss stuff. My friend is part of one because he was walking through a mall one day with an mlp shirt on, and someone came up to him and asked him if he liked mlp. He said yes, and was invited to join this brony group. Good luck

If and when you mention it to people, just do it calmly and causally. Chances are they don't know anything about bronies, or what they do probably isn't good, so if they'll look to you for info, so make sure you give the best picture of us possible! People who never watched MLP will probably associate the show with nonmanly people so careful with that!
Maybe best thing you could do is just tell them and keep on acting manly!
