Lost my phone, is my stuff safe?

So I unfortunately, lost my phone it seems for good. The next day, I reported it lost and got a new phone with the same number and purchased protection. My old phone was picture password protected. But if somebody managed to hack that, could they access my facebook, email, skype, dropbox? Is there something I can do to protect these?
No, it wasn't an iphone it was a Samsung Galaxy.

well if it was an iPhone you should look into the app "Find my iPhone" and if you get that app on another iPhone, all you have to do is put in your Apple ID and both of your phones should come up (lost one and the one you have now) and you can select your old phone and erase all of the information and data off of it.
