How to make an avatar? - link not working?

Hi, I was wondering where to make my avatar. I've looked up other answers and all the links they've given for where you can create your avatar just leads me to my yahoo profile! Please help!!

You cant do it any more,Yahoo discontinued avatars from 1st April.

google avatars there lots, then you can pick one from there.
pick the sort you want, then you need to download it.
you then can upload it to yahoo.

You can use a photo avatar or a cartoon avatar from another site, and if you have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can also use those avatars.

Go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ - make sure your profile isn't hidden, because if it is, your avatar won't show.

In case you want to use a Facebook or Twitter avatar, you need to link those accounts in the Profile options.

You have several options in case you want a photo avatar:
a) go to your Yahoo! Answers settings at http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity > click edit my preferences near your current pic > click "Update photo or avatar",
b) go to your Yahoo! Profile at http://profile.yahoo.com/ , click on the current avatar.
Now upload a picture or choose one of the pics you've uploaded previously.

Note 1: if you are on a mobile, you need to switch to desktop mode first in order for this to work.

Note 2: Yahoo no longer supports the creation of their cartoon avatars - it may still work for a few users, but the support was said to stop April 1. And no, this is no joke, the matter was announced quite a while ago...

You could choose either a cartoon or a photo avatar

The Yahoo avatars page is no longer available but you can do this:
Create a personal avatar below save it to you pc then upload it as below.

Photo and avatar upload

Click on your current avatar then click edit my preferences to the right of your default avatar click update photo. Follow the prompts to upload a photo or saved avatar from your pc.

You need to change your YAHOO avatar now. You have TWO profiles, a Yahoo profile AND a YA activity profile. You may need to upload an avatar TWICE, but it's the image that IS the link between BOTH profiles now. You have been doing it through your YA profile NOT YOUR YAHOO profile, That is why it is NOT working.

1. Go to the YAHOO home page, NOT the YA homepage.

2. Click your tiny little avatar. That will take you to your YAHOO profile page

3. Click the small small image where it says "Change photo"

4. Click the "Upload" arrow. That should open a new window Where you can

5. Click the folder where your pictures are.

6. Click any sub-folders you may have to open them.

6/7. Click the photo you want to choose as your YAHOO AND YA avatar

That will change your YA avatar too. I've JUST done this. I have YA open on another tab right now.
