What is a good social event to plan?

I need ideas for our first club social event. Our club is about Business marketing and it's for high school. Any good ideas for the first social event?

Plan a dance with entertainment provided by the students of the club. The entertainment could be jokes about the economy and the problems of start ups. Then, you take music from musicals and write your own words that reflect the theme of the play. Invite your favorite teachers as well, sell tickets within your group and their friends. The music is a school fave DJ, and sell refreshments. You go to Costco or the like and buy water cheap. You sell cans of pop. I was going to say a punch bowl, but now I don't think you could trust someone. What venue, it would be, is that sometimes churches rent a room for the evening, with a stage, but you have to get the lay of the land and find out about the lighting. Hopefully, as it is Business, you break even. That would be essential.
