Yes, McCain and Bush wanted to privatize social security. The stock brokers were salivating about getting their hands on all that cash.

The privatization was not mandatory. Those who wanted it privatized would have it so. And most of the people who would have privatized theirs would have been 50 years old or younger. And only 50% of the money would go to the privatized individuals pocket. The worker today is giving the money to the 70 year old S.S. person. What will happen in 2040 when not enough people are working to support the S.S. recipients.

Yes that means all young people would have to provide for thier own social security from then on. I do not think the very rich like him think of others like the poor. They live in a different world set apart from mainstream America.
