What is wrong with mixed markets?
What is wrong with mixed markets, and what is wrong with capitalism in general. When I said what is wrong with mixed markets, I mean those incorporated today in Western European Economies. Also what is the american economy system classed as (is it mixed economies/or a form more toward classical capitalism)?
I think I know most of the theory why they don't work or do work, but would like outside opinion. So take it as I understand so no need to explain in too much depth, I just want to hear your opinion, mainly of what is wrong in today's system. By use of the word wrong I mean, wrong or flawed.

It would be a lot better if you could post your answer with the following: the market you live in, your social class as defined by Marxism and your preference on economic system if it's capitalist, communist or other. If other please state.

Thanks

Market I live in: Mixed (UK)
Social Class: Middle to upper class, I think probably bourgeoisie, but I'm not sure
Favourite economic system: mixed but more towards capitalism

Mixed economies are only bad when government intervention leads to a net welfare loss or a misallocation of resources. This can happen quite often due to politics getting in the way of economics.
A pessimist would say that mixed economies have the problems of capitalism and the problems of communism in one economy, and optimist would say that it has the benefits of communism and the benefits of capitalism. I would say that mixed economies are probably more effective than free markets and communist economies, but only if managed correctly. It is important that freedom to purchase goods and capital remain.
The system we have in the UK is counter productive and is not the optimum system. We need lower taxes and lower spending. The system in the US has problems as well, but it is better than our system at the moment.

Basically there is nothing wrong with mixed economies. It is the absence of effective regulator(state agency or self regulation) that makes people suffer. All over the world it is now mixed economy.Mostly services like public transport, health, power supply etc are by the Govt and remaining by corporate giants. The corporates are not comparable to the single capitalists of 18 century who took away all profits. The present capital mobilization is through equity ,corporate giants are owned by millions of share holders(not one man) who get dividends or share of profits. The inability of govts to enforce fair trade practices, ceiling on profit margins are the adverse features of mixed economy.
