On Twitter, Skynet was trending & i was wondering what it's about.

"Skynet", from the movie, "The Terminator", is the day that machines become self aware and begin their take over of the world.
The super computer that just won on Jeopardy is not self aware. What it is is an extremely fast database search computer. Based on the data it obtains it is also extremely fast in sorting through the results to see which results would most apply to a given question.

Skynet was the fake military computer company from the "Terminator" movie's with Arnold Schwartzenneger.
In the movie, on 04/19/2011 at 8:11pm, Skynet's computers became self aware and began it's war against humanity.

Yesterday was 04/19/2011 in real life. That's why "Skynet" was trending.
