Question about facebook messenger?

when i downloaded the messenger app, it asked me if i wanted to upload my contacts from my phone onto it but i was confused on how is that possible? an if i have messenger and i have someone on my contacts that i dont have added, will they see my facebook profile if they upload there contacts on there messenger?

Nobody from your contacts will be added to your Facebook friends list. What happens when you click "sync all" you're putting whoever is in your contacts, their Facebook page link will be there, their number(if on Facebook) and their profile picture. I hope I helped you out(:
