Why won't she accept my Instagram follow request?

Hi, so this girl told me that she had Instagram so then I asked her for her username of which she then gave me and told me that I "need to add her" so when I got home I looked her up and her profile was set to private. I then sent her a follow request however she has not yet responded to it and it has been 4 days.

So my question is why is she ignoring me when she was the one that told me to add her? There is still activity going off on her account as I can see her "Posts" "Followers and "Following" changing all the time so what do you think is going on?

she probably used you to up her follow count. dont take it personally, people do that constantly.

Maybe she's nervous about adding you? Do you think she likes you? Maybe when she gave you her name she never really thought it through and is now too nervous to accept you? Maybe un-request her and try again in a few days? Or maybe when you're speaking to her next bring up the topic and kinda joke about it saying 'you haven't accepted me on Instagram yet! What's the hold up?' Then kinda laugh about it. If she acts shy or goes red she is probably nervous so give her some time and don't keep asking her about it. If she doesn't forget about her she's not worth it and is only playing with you.
