facebook friend request problem?

ok so i got a new email in my inbox saying that some girl i know added me on facebook and they want me to confirm the friend request. now when i go on my facebook account, i do not see any notification of it and idk how to accept it. but when i search her name, it says that there is a friend request pending. WTF??

Your pending request(s) will be waiting in the top right corner of your home page (ie. http://www.facebook.com/reqs.php#friend ).

If you do not see any friend requests there that means she has cancelled her request, such as by blocking you (then unblocking you, etc).

If you search for her and it says there is a request pending (but there is NO request in your requests page I mentioned above) that means the pending request was sent by YOU, and is waiting for her to accept your request (ie. You clicked "Add as friend" before, and now it's waiting for her to accept).
