Is it abnormal that my parents have done this?
So today I had a big argument with my parents and sister, all of them ganging up against me (Im 16).

I have blocked my parents and sister off my twitter because they criticise half of what I put, when othe people put ten times worse.
So they then hacked into my twitter account to see what I'd written, and were outraged to find I'd tweeted "why do you have to ruin everything?" and "i just feel like crying". I hadn't mentioned them at all or anything.

They pretty much forced me to delete them and say I have to unblock them so they can keep an eye on me.

Is this normal? What should I do?

You're parents are a bit ott although I can understand it. I would just change my twitter account stuff and keep them out of it. Failing that just delete the account.

For me it's abnormal for parents to have a Twitter. If I were you, I'd make another page and not tell them about it. Keep the old one and update it regularly so they don't suspect anything
Good luck

They are just being over protective as parents always are. Stick up for yourself! Your 16!

Tell them to eat your excretion and to stop ruining everything. Making people delete what they've said doesn't change the fact that you feel those things, in fact it makes them feel it more.

I know the feeling, I'm the youngest of 5 so it's like none of them trust me. I'm 18 and they still treat me like that but they only do it because they care and we just don't realise because of our anger and feel betrayed. It's abit extreme hacking into your account just to spy on you but there proberly just scared as the rate of Internet crime has increased especially cyber bullying leading to suicide.
I doubt this is your case but its natural for them to be scared.
Just make a different account and use it on a phone or laptop so they won't know and talk to them let them know you need privacy and if there's anything you need to talk about or need help with, you will go to them. They just need to be reminded your a teenager and you do have your own social life as well.

I guess you get 3 types of parents. The ones that are completely careless, the ones that care but aren't over the top about stuff and the ones that are controlling and monitor you at all times. I think your parents are the third option.

You have a right to your own privacy, and if your parents would rather you delete your tweets instead of asking you what's wrong and being there for you then something is definitely wrong.

If this is really bothering you, you should confront them and tell them that you are your own person, and your old enough to know right from wrong. You deserve that much privacy at least.

I know the feeling of your family ganging up you.
This was so wrong of them to do. They had no right. It's just twitter and it's not like you've posted something awful. It can be hard standing up to your entire family, but you have got to stand your ground. You could change your account, though everything would be all over again... following people, getting them to follow you, blah blah blah.
Internet of a teen is something that parents should never follow and should never be allow to see. You need your privacy, even if they don't like it. You can't be a fly under their microscope.
