What's wrong with my Facebook Notifications?

I never get any real notifications. I only get stuff like "Are you a true fan of Scrubs"? of other quizzes like that. This started yesterday morning. It never gives me stuff like "(person's name) has accepted your friend invite". or anything like that. So i tried unchecking those notifications, the quiz ones, but they keep coming back. what do i do!? And i have clicked "see all notifications" and unchecked the ones that i don't want them from but they keep coming back!!

To get the unwanted notifications to go away, go to Edit Applications and start removing the apps.

The other stuff...Iunno.
Although, Facebook has been acting very stupid as of late.
It wouldn't notify at all on FB itself, but I'd get the notices through e-mail.
