I have a motorola Defy+ and i want to stop several applications from auto-restarting and eating my ram. i don't use these apps but they keep restarting on their own. worse of all, i can't uninstall these.

if you can't delete them, this is because they came preinstalled on the phone
the only way to stop them from restarting woudl be to root the phone and remove them. Ads |

The only way to uninstall built-in apps is to root your phone first. But that's a lot of work just to do what you want, and it can be risky.
What I recommend instead is that you move as many apps as possible to your phone's SD card, this will minimize the use of the phone's internal memory (you won't be able to move built-in apps, but you will be able to move many of the apps you installed later). You can do this most easily by installing an App to SD app, search Google Play for "app to SD" or "app 2 sd", etc. P.S. Not all apps can be moved. Even if you can, don't move widgets or apps which include widgets because they won't work right if they're on SD. |

You'll want to root it first. Then you can use Titanium Backup to "freeze" the apps you don't use.
Do not uninstall them. It could really mess up your phone. I suggest you familiarize yourself with what you can do with your phone. XDA Forums have a ton of information and a simple beginners guide to rooting and other customization. Just be careful. If you have any more questions, message me. The best way to do it is just to go the manage application in the settings and force the close, the app should not restart after this regardless what the task killer says. Some apps will restart too if you have background data on within the background.
