facebook notifications?

my facebook account doesnt notify me when i recieve wall posts, status comments, photo comments, or replies from my wall posts to other people. i get notifications for app invites and such but nothing else.... what do i do?
i have tried looking in my setting but couldnt find anything that would deal with not telling me i have wall posts
well under the notification tabs it just asks if i want email or sms notifications but i want to get notified when i log in to facebook. it never tells me i have new wall posts

U have to go to your settings and then click the notifications tab, then u click on each of things u want to receive notifications on
