how to tell if an email is real or a scam?
so i just got an email (supposedly) from paypal saying a charge of £75.99 was made to facebook from my paypal account. ive just looked on my paypal account and nothing is showing up.
it says its from the paypal security center. does it sound like a scam. cause as far as im aware facebook is free. however the email is addressed to me, which is also making me wonder if it is real Ads |

If it is not on your Paypal account, then it is not true.
NEVER click on a link to access your Paypal account. You can forward the email to spoof@paypal.com (or .uk) for them to deal with. |

SCAM
If it's not from service@paypal.com and nothing shows up in your Paypal account, it is a phishing scam. You didn't click on any link or attachment in that email, did you? If you did, you need to immediately change your paypal password and run a full virus scan |
