Befriending a boss on Facebook?
Hi all, I just had a question here.............

How many of ya'll befriend your bosses on Facebook; and how many of ya'll feel comfortable doing it when you've barely been working with them for that long?
I'll say the word "befriend" as much as I want, a$$wipe.

BEFRIEND BEFRIEND BEFRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEENNNNNND!!!!!! : P

I can think of many reasons that could go left. If you keep your Facebook clean because you are working and in the job market and networking I guess it could work. However, I would avoid it, especially if you are on to complain about life and the job in your statuses.

First why the heck do you keep using the word befriend? Why can't you just say should I add my boss as a friend on facebook? Second the only way it would be a good idea is if your a stripper, because who knows what someones gonna tag you in.

depends on the person, the boss and the work environment. I had a boss who befriended me when I was very young. Subsequently, I worked in labor intensive occupations where that was discouraged. When I became a professional (legal) the environment was highly competitive and fraternization was permitted as long as the relationship was professional, not personal.
