Poll: what age do YOU think someone should get Facebook?
I am 13 years old, so I know that technically I am the right age to join Facebook, but my parents won't let me have Facebook till I'm 18. I believe I am mature enough to create an account, and I only intend to use it for 15 minutes a day or less, just to keep my self updated socially and organise to meet up with friends. Anyway, your opinion is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Luther, do you seriously believe that a 13 year old can't type. Don't think your superior over other people just because you are a few years older.

in my opinion it is very addictive and a waste of time. Basically all it is, is a gossip site. But thats just what i think. why cant you text or call someone when you need them? And teens are on facebook from 5pm till like 12pm. Its ridiculous and they wonder why they fail all exams. I think the age which is appropriate for facebook users is 16.

you should start using social networking sites when you learn how to manage your time well otherwise that sort of web sites should not be used because in that case they are total waste of time.

Personally, I think it should be 15 or 16yrs. One of the main reasons Facebook allows their age limit to be so low is because they get their money using targeted advertising. This basically means any information you put onto Facebook ie. favorite TV shows, games & books etc will generate those kind of ads on the pages you view. This allows them to charge a lot more to advertisers as they will have direct access to the target market, and therefore, Facebook will want more people joining the site.

That's a difficult one, but I'd say 16-18 years old.

By that age, you're finishing up with high school, and need Facebook to keep in touch. Up until then, it's just fun and a waste of time after school. You see your friends at school everyday, anyway.

Facebook can also be dangerous for younger teenagers.

Hope I've helped!

18? Damn your parents are strict. When your 18 Facebook won't exist anymore.
After you are 15-16 your parents can't technicly decide over you. Mainly cause you will alot stronger then them and they are afraid to get beaten up. Or is that just me?
It really depends on your maturity.
I see you type really well and you seem really polite, so i think you are mature enough to get a Facebook profile. Most girls at your age isn't nearly as mature as you, even though they are old enough they shouldnt have a Facebook.
If your parents still don't let you get a Facebook, just create a profile with a longer or shortened name like this: Mike Johnson = Mikey Johnson.
Remember to delete your history.
Happy Facebooking Smile
