how do I block my friends list on facebook?

I want to block people who are not on my friends list from seeing who I am friends with. I looked under privacy preferences in facebook and I can't find where to block the list, but I see other people have their friends blocked. How do you do this please? Thank you.

If it is someone who is not your friend you can:
To hide your friends on your profile page and to the general public, go to your profile and click on the pencil icon at the top right of the Friends box. Then uncheck "Show my friends on my profile".

But it mentions that "Note: Your Friend List is always visible to friends." I went back to "Settings," "Profile Information," and "Preview My Profile" and my friend's list no longer shows up.
