"Our Judeo-Christian civilization has developed the law and custom that, since women bear the physical consequences of the sex act, men must be required to pay in other ways. These laws and customs decree that a man must carry his share by physical protection and financial support of his children and of the woman that bears his children, and also by a code of behavior that benefits and protects both the woman and the children.

This is accomplished by the institution of the family. Our respect for the family as the basic unit of society, which is ingrained in the laws and customs of our Judeo-Christian civilization, is the greatest single achievement in the history of women's rights. It assures a woman the most precious and important right of all- the right to keep her own baby and to be supported and protected in the enjoyment of watching her baby grow and develop." The pictures are propaganda to promote traditional gender roles from a time when life seemed simpler and easier for some women, especially probably trophy wives whose husbands had a lot of money. Have you ever read Angela"s Ashes,a true story about a wife and children living in desperate poverty because the sole breadwinner was an alcoholic, That was also a part of the reality too then and the picture is much more bleak.

I am a feminist and I have no problem if you want to do be a trophy wife, yourself. However, I do have to a problem if you promote it as a lifestyle to young girls in our modern world when divorce is so common place and girls are getting good education and they have aspirations to doing more with it than getting a MRS.. In the 21st century with one in two marriages ending in divorce, it is just unrealistic to expect a man to look after you for the rest of your life, especially when there are so many other options open to you.

It tells me that women weren't having it as bad as the Feminists describe women's role in the society before the advent of Feminism.

It again proves that Feminists and Feminism do not represent every woman on earth.

If gender roles work for you, you should have every right to choose a man who appreciates your choice without being shamed for your choices by Feminists.
