Global warming is one of those issues that ranks below just about everything except for those select few who have adopted it as their cause. It is tough to get people worked up about warming when warming isn't that bad and when it hasn't even been warming since you were probably born.

Note: I took the biased poll. At least it will have one non cultist response.

I submitted my answers but your survey has a problem. "Global Warming" is not the issue --- the real debate is about ***man-made*** Global Warming.

And currently there is no warming of any kind, man-made or otherwise. The planet has been cooling since 1998. http://www.woodfortrees.org/plot/rss/fro...8/to/trend

You should watch these. Top climate scientists say there is no man-made Global Warming.

If you don’t mind spending a bit of money then head over to Survey Monkey. Once you complete your survey they distribute it to targeted respondents, you could send it to a few people or to millions. You pay based on the number of responses you get.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/

I’m guessing you don’t want to spend much so a free online survey may be better. They are available but with limitations. Free Online Surveys has a million members and will allow you to ask up to 20 questions and receive 50 completed responses for free. If you want more then you have to upgrade (although of course you could just create another free survey).

Can I just add some comments about your online survey…

• “Assuming global warming is happening, do you think it is...”
You could add another response, namely that it’s caused equally by humans and nature. Also, clarify that this question refers to human induced global warming, you might also want to timeframe it such as “warming in the last X years”.

Posting your survey in forums like this will generate a biased response as there is a disproportionately high number of skeptics. A sizeable majority of people around the world accept that global warming is happening but on Answers the majority of activity comes from the sceptics.

Similarly, if you want a world-view then bear in mind that surveys conducted in some countries show that 100% of the population of particular countries view global warming as a problem but in the US that number is about 76%, the global average being about 90%.

You’ve called the survey “How much do you really know…”, I would say that perhaps one person in 10,000 really knows about global warming (I’m a climate scientist so I can tell who knows and who doesn’t), perhaps “What do you think about…” would be a more suitable title.

You could always try and get a post to your survey on a popular Twitter or Facebook account – one that’s global and reflective of the world population.

Just some suggestions. I’ve completed the survey for you, hope it helps.

Please check out Phil Valentine's movie on the subject called An Inconsistent Truth. That should help your poll!
