PLEASE HELP I've gained weight from my medications?
Hey. I have several disorders...Let's see if I can remember them: ADHD, PTSD, OCD, Clinical Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Panic Disorder.

I think that's it.

As you could infer, someone like me needs several medications. However, my Doctor and I, after years of trial and error, have found that I feel much better with Lithium, Klonopin, and Atarax. I'm not being treated for my ADHD though. These meds used to make me lose weight..

Anyway, a few months ago before starting these 3 medications, I was 119 pounds, BMI of 19% and I am 5"6. In only a few months I've gained a lot of weight...I'm 160 pounds now and I'm too scared to look at my BMI.

I feel fat. I'm not, I know...I'm just chubby. But I'm heading there. I cry every night and deleted my Facebook and all of my social media because I don't want anyone to see pictures of me. I also chased away my friends every time they wanted to hang out because I haven't seen them since I was 119 pounds...and it's just embarrassing.

Please help me. I don't know what to do...how do I exercise if my meds are also making me dizzy and fatigued? Is there any way I can lose weight just by following a certain diet? I tried walking my dog the other day and nearly passed out and I was so out of breath...

I feel like I might plunge into a deep depression if I don't get back to where I was.

You need to talk to your doctor about this. That much weight gain is very unhealthy. I was put on medicine for my OCD to, I gain so much weight I became suicide because I hated what i became. The doctor took me of the meds and I started seeing a therapist twice a week instead. I lost all the weight, through good diet and exercise. It took about 4 years of therapy but i am finally doing better. Sometimes medicine is used as a quick fix when long term therapy is really what is needed.

Can you get rid of these meds? Does not sound like they are helping you.
And change the doctor. Try a naturopath.
