Both have great value. Facebook is great for keeping up with family and friend that might not live close to you, and you can instant message or chat with people near and far in real time. Twitter is a good quick way to let people see some of what you are doing. The only down side to both is privacy. At least on face book you can make yourself completely private. Twitter you are not private 100% at all.

For my profession I LOVE facebook. I Stalk people, and know if they have dogs, pets, what paintings or jewelery, everything. Best part, they leave on vacation and I know for how long. Now don't understand me wrong, I don't steal, I break in and live in other peoples houses until they come back.
