Myspace is safe. And why should you trust me? It's because I do have a myspace account. Well, used to. I deleted it because I'm just too busy to maintain it. It's really safe, but there are some pervs there too. My advise is don't approve anyone whom you don't know.
And if you really don't want your mother to know, set your profile to private. But i would tell my mum that i'm getting one. I mean, it won't do any harm.

Why not? You are on yahoo which can offer the same dangers.

Just don't talk to or add anyone you don't know. Other then that they can't view your profile anyway.

It is safe if you set your profile to private. That way only people you accept as your friend can look at your profile. There are loads of opitions to make your myspace safe and private you just got to choose which ones you want when you create the profile. Plus, it is sort of fun so i would get one!!!

there are alot of safety features and blocks so freaks can't contact you. try n show these to ur mom. she's just afraid for u. u are her baby. i let my 2 12 yr olds have a space and i have one too to keep an eye on them. it's a fun way to stay in contact w/fam n friends

i don't know why people say MySpaceisn'tt safe. I am 13 and I have never had a problem.

If your mom stilldoesn'tt want you to get one though., then get a face book. Facebook is cool too.

create your account, make all your privacy settings so no one who is not on your friend list can see your profile, send you messages/comments etc. There's a way you can set friend requests to require your last name or e-mail too, but if you can't find that then just deny anybody who tries to send you one that you don't wish to communicate with.

I'm going to be honest with you, no website is safe for you to go on if you have to make a profile. Because of your age I would have to say definitely NOT.You are too young, but just go to your parents for assistance on this matter and yes I agree with your parents. Just communicate through other means. Also, for the age thing I think you need to be at leat 18 to make a personal profile of yourself.

ive had one for awhile and nothing has ever happened to me, but my page is private and i only add people i personally know and have met and what not. but i must say it can be dangerous, my friend got a stalker who found her on myspace and she had to call the cops and everything cause he said he was going to kill her, they never found out who it was either. u just have to be careful, and MAKE SURE YOUR PAGE IS PRIVATE!! And also even if your page is private ppl can see your headline and status, so u cant put anything like your address phone number ect. like some ppl put their # in their status and say text it and what not, and that can be dangerous too.

I have four children and I do not like myspace at all. I watch these shows where stalkers and molesters are finding children on myspace and kidnapping them. I allow my children to have facebook and it is very safe!
