On Facebook: why am I getting email notifications when someone posts on another person's wall?
I received what I think was a virus email regarding a friend's Facebook page, and I never opened it (my Norton Interne Security prevented my opening it), but now whenever someone posts on my friends Facebook page, I get email notifications of these posts.
What is causing this? How can I stop this? Specifically, what do I click on in notifications to not get emails when someone posts on another person's wall. I know lots' of people on Facebook, but I NEVER post on anyone's page, and it's only with this one person's Facebook page that I receive emails about. Ads |

Thats normal dude! Just check your settings and uncheck the box that gives you the option of not receiving these notifications. But once you comment on someone's post your are basically doomed to receive a notification all the time someone posts something to wherever you post it something as well.

I think it has something to do in your account's notification settings. I made this group in facebook on the websites I have. And whenever I build web sites I add its link to the group page. I constantly receive email notifications on the group page.So I changed the settings and the notifications stopped coming.
You can change the settings by: 1) click Settings at the upper right part of the facebook page. 2) then choose Notifications. There you can select the things that you want to receive notifications on and deselect the ones you do not. Hope this helps. |

It could be because you too commented on that post or liked it. You can change the settings by clicking "See All" on the notification button, and choose which setting you want.

are you sure theyre from facebook? the email address they send you mails from will be specific to your account, something like notification_snadkjasdbckj@facebookmail.com; with random text in the middle of the email. what exactly does it say in the mail? for example, it saying 'someone has commented on your wall' or 'someone commented on [friends] wall' could mean different things...
a typical genuine facebook mail about this would look like, [someone] commented on [friend]'s wall post: "[what they wrote here]" New feature: Reply to this email to comment on this post. (im not sure if you can actually do this..) if i were you, i would set a mail block on all messages like the ones you are getting, so you dont just have to delete them or whatever. |
