Would you find it strange if someone looked you up on facebook even though you said you didn't have one?

Stranger that you lied about not having one instead of just saying I don't use it or just ignoring his friend request. He was obviously interested in you enough to google you and your profile probably came up in the search.

Grow some thicker skin. Anybody can look up anybody on Facebook. If you didn't want to be found on Facebook, then you should change your privacy settings. If these kinds of problems actually annoy you, I don't see how you'll ever make it though life.

Lying is generally not the best solution.

I think that guy is a creep!

Its fine if he checked to see if you were really on fb. But to let you know that he did even after you telling him that you dont have fb, would make me feel uncomfortable. You clearly never want to add him as a friend on fb and thats perfectly fine

Facebook is a breeding ground for stalkers. That is why I don't have an account. I do belong to Zurker and have encouraged "real" friends and family to join. It is like having our own private FB without being accessible to stalkers, AND, Zurker refuses to retain IP information nor do they sell your data and identity. Because of this, when the NSA or FBI requests data on users, they can honestly refuse to turn anything over because they don't have it.
