my email is tied to my husbands facebook and i can't open my own account?

For some reason, when I try to open a facebook account of my own, my husband's facebook page and info pop up. He, obviously has a different email account, different password etc. Every once in a while I have gotten notifications of stuff related to his facebook account in my hotmail account and never really cared about it so never gave it much thought. Now I want to open a facebook account for a specific group membership. What do I do? He is willing to close his facebook, but he does use it once in a while to communicate with his kids etc.

maybe he added your email as an alternate email in his facebook account? have him check that, he should be able to just remove it so you can create your own account

if all else fails, just create a new email address (they are free) and use it to create your facebook account
