Ha I was just wondering that myself.
I generally go on the top free aps bit on itunes and see whats avaliable. But for me, my top five would be:

-just fillin' free
-mini piano
-writepad
- crittercrunch lite (i love this game!)
-bubblewrap

I also have the free useful apps like google, metlink, facebook, tramtracker etc.

I have an iPod touch and I found the free Bluetooth app really useful but I think that you can only use it for iPods an iPhones but I'm not really sure. Try it!
