does having a lot of apps / games slow down Windows 8.1?

first, i am not low on resources, i have an i7 3770 processor and 16 gigs of ram

that being said i do not want my pc slowing down just for some card games

i have about 10 games installed and some apps like weather, facebook etc

will have cause my pc to slow down or start up slow?

so far i have not noticed anything yet

It only slow you down if you are running many games/app in the background or maybe in the start menu that have many app live on, just make em live off

Computers slow down when there are a bunch of programs that run in the background competing for resources. If you close down programs after you are done with them or get rid of them if they aren't needed then the computer should not slow down at all
