Why do you feel so good when someone "likes" something of yours on social media? Acceptance?

It's like when they like your post on fb, for example, you're just like, "You're my best friend!" Haha what makes people so happy about something as small as a like? Feeling accepted/popular?

It is recognition that you of of value. You exist and are a positive influence. In turn it boosts your "ego".Try to work on "self-start" and give yourself credit for achievements without needing recognition from outside influences.Extroverts thrive on projecting and receiving.Introverts turn inward for guidance.

I'm guilty of this. I get a rush of excitement and sheer joy though very brief but still it makes my day whenever someone "likes" whatever I post/upload online.
I guess you can say it's acceptance but at the same time it feels very gratifying that my posts were liked by someone, that I matter somehow.
