How do I delete a Facebook post on the new fb December 2012

there should be a little link on the top tip right of your status and it will give you the option to highlight or edit/remove the status

you'll find the edit button beside the post, click the button then remove it

Go to your profile and locate the post you wish to remove. Move your mouse to the top right corner of the post and you'll see to different buttons "Edit or Remove" and "Highlight". Click Edit or Remove and click delete, which is located under "Hide from timeline".
