Is my graphics card Broken? and What one is a sutable upgrade?
Basically i am going to explain what has happened and then what my specs are and then i am gonna ask whats next. might turn into a big of a book but please i need some help!!!

So i started multiboxing for the 3rd time on World of Warcraft a fortnight ago and both my monitors went black for a few seconds and when they both came on wow was fine but my google chrome had blacked out. then a error message popped up at the bottom saying " Display driver NVIDIA windows kernel mode driver, version 306.97 stopped responding and has successfully recovered" this happned once every 2 hours for a week of so cos i never thought much of it. i told my friend and he said your driver prob just need updating so i went on the geforce site and they did so i updated them. Now when i play wow on Windowed Full screen mode ( which basically allows me to use other programs such as the inter net with out minimizing it) it just closes its self about ever minute. my friend reckons my graphics card is knackered. but i dont know

But wow works fine in full screen mode and i can only use one of my screens.

So is it broken or is there something i can do to get it back to normal.

On a 2nd note if its broken i would like a new one

So i know its a PCI slot 2.0 does that mean i can use a PCI 2.0 x16 graphics card for example

or if some one else has a recommendation that would be awesome thanks in advance

Yes, card is going bad.
Your PCI is a "PCI-E" 2.0
I do not know what motherboard you have so I don't know if it will run the PCI 2.0 x16.
Find your motherboard specs and it will give the info on your PCI-E slot
