What's a good social media topic to write about?

I'm a freshman in college and I have to write a research paper on a topic within social media. I'm not quite sure of what I can write about that I'll be able to have a good argument, and yet be interesting. I need a topic that I'll be able to find lots of information on. I will need to find 4 articles that I use to write the research paper. I don't wanna do the usual Facebook, twitter, Wikipedia, etc. I'd appreciate any ideas.

Talk about how social media manipulates outcomes of events and manipulates how people will interpret events by adding biased opinions and over exaggerating certain aspects of stories.

Or talk about how social media websites have destroyed certain marketing and news industries like newspapers. Not many people read newspapers anymore since they have access to the web.

Talk about Zuckerberg. He stole face-book from these guys he was working for. He bribed TIME magazine to make him person of the year.

How about social media being a news outlet now in the world. Some athletes have made announcements on social media regarding their careers and decisions they make. During the uprising in Egypt that overthrew Mubarak, social media like Twitter and Facebook played a huge role in getting the story out when most traditional media was clamped down on.
