Am I legally allowed Facebook at 18? Australia..?
I'm Australian, and my parents have forbidden Facebook for years. I have an account already, deactivated. In a few months I'll be 18. Will I legally be allowed to use Facebook then? I consider myself a sensible person, so I would be a moderate user..the prohibition isn't for a personal reason either, just a safety concern and "it's useless". Can I override what my parents forbid?
Thanks!

Yes you can since at 18 you ate considered a adult but just let your parents know you're getting a new one I mean it's best to keep them updated.

Yes.

You're parents are acting ridiculous. You are actually allowed to make a Facebook account at 13 years. Your parents should let you make a Facebook now.

Anyways, if they don't, once you turn 18, you'll be an independent person, so you can make one with or without your parents consent.

To try to convince them, tell them that there's nothing dangerous about Facebook. Just don't accept any friend requests from strangers and don't talk to strangers. Also, don't click on any of the advertisements or any suspicious links about Free Facebook Credits and all that stuff.

Hope I helped! If you want any more information, just add Additional Details.

Good luck and best of wishes!

You are permitted to have Facebook at 13 HOWEVER, if you are still living at home, you must abide by reasonable requests of your parents. If they are limiting your internet then until you get your internet in your own name, purchase your own computer then your parents can prevent you from using Facebook. You are not an adult or independant until you are living by yourself and supporting yourself.
