how to delete an account on instagram?

i need a new instagram account and it wont let me use the same email! is there any way that i can delete the previous account?
also i cant access the previous one because it said that it was inactive yet i cant use the same email! HELP

Yes.
I've deleted mine a few weeks ago.
Login to instagram, go to options/ settings. Should sound like something like that.
There you have an an option to delete your account for good.
It's easy.
