Does facebook un-friend people if there has been no contact after a long while, or did those people block me?

I used to be facebook friends with some people from uni.

But I looked them up recently and I was no longer facebook friends with them.

Did they make an extra effort to un-friend me or something?

I dont think facebook did it on their behalf.

A lot of times people go through their friends list and delete people they don't talk to anymore. Facebook doesn't automatically un-friend people

Don't take it personally though, they probably just want to keep only people they talk to on their list.

Facebook does not touch your friends list at all. It could be they either unfriended you, blocked you, or simply don't have a Facebook account anymore.
