Who can i contact.... he says he is related to Romanov royal family?
Some kid at my school is pretending to be related to the Russian royal Romanov czar family. I asked this question on here before and confirmed that it would be impossible. However, I talked to this guys dad and he firmly believes he is related to them. In fact, he wants his name and the "truth" spread about how the Romanov family was never killed... it was all a plot. His name is Steven P Williams. Now, since he WANTS his name spread... here is a link to his Facebook page.

Is there any number to call, a news station or some sort, to do a story on him and a genealogy (DNA) testing? I know people have pretended they were related to the czar before, it was a big deal and they tested DNA and proved it was false. Is there a number to call? I want the whole world to know he's lying. He has even made websites about himself trying to spread the "truth" about his family. He said he was 13 when Empress Annastasia died and he spent a lot of time with her. I obviously don't believe him. But he wants people knowing he is related to them. I live in South U.S. btw. Is there any number you know to call? I don't know where to go from here. Thank you

<irony>
I'll design a web site for you for $400, plus domain registration and hosting. That is probably the best way to put this fellow in his place. Write to me via my profile. Hosting is $60 a year or so, domain registration another $20.

Or you could just let it go. Young men brag; it is their nature. 90% of men 16 - 26 think they are much better drivers than the rest of the world, that dogs and small children like them, and that they would be crack shots if the took up the sport.

How much time, money and energy do you want to devote to the project?

The remains of the last Russian Tsar and his family were found buried in woods near the house where they were murdered

DNA test were done and compared to the closed living relative, a member of the British Royal family, (Can't remember which one,) and it was conclusively prover that the remains WERE the Romanov's.

He could be distantly related to the Romanov's but he is certainly NOT descended form the Tsar , his son or his unmarried daughters who were murdered with him. Even the supposedly missing daughters remains have been found.

I'll try to find the documentary and if I do so I'll add the link below. I make no promices though.

The second link says that H R H the Duke of Edinburgh was the person who provided the DNA sampe as one of the closest living relatives of the Romanovs. I think he may have been a great nephew of cousin of the Tsarina. The Tsarina was one of Queen Victoria's daughters.

First I would let go of this and let this person believe what ever he wants. The body of the son and one of the daughters of Nicholas was found some years back and DNA proved that the bodies were in fact the children who were murderer when the Romanov family was captured and held by the peasant army in 1916,
Were there ANY related to the Family who escaped: YES, but there were not direct descendents of the Romanov family that survived.

Some times it is better to let people who believe something alone, because the truth cones out. Trust me the people in the South might care if this guy was saying he was related to Jefferson Davis, or Lee or even Queen Victoria, but they don't really care about some Russian Czar's family.

There are Americans who have proved a relationship via DNA.

But, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Romanov

As my parents were teenagers at the time, I certainly cannot make such a claim. You are talking about something less than a century ago: that means 2, at the most 3, generations ago.

If you look up the Romanovs, you will find there is no doubt that everyone of them, adults and children, were all slaughtered, murdered in cold blood. DNA tests proves that also.

So, the easiest thing to do is to tell him to "put up or shut up".

Me, if I was related to some such persons I would do my best to cover it up. They should not have been murdered in cold blood (1st degree murder), but they certainly were not nice people. I would not want to be related to them.

He could be related to the Tsar, If the Tsar had any surviving brothers or sisters he could be a collateral dascendant of the Tsar but not a direct descendant since all of his children were killed and their bodies found and DNA evidence states that it is them. Don't try and argue with him. It isn't going to do you any good. There were people named Romanov that weren't royal Romanovs.

They already ran a DNA test on the body of someone who died almost 100 years ago and proved she was Empress Anastasia. Unless he is over 80 years old, that test is enough to prove that he was not 13 when she died. There is no need for an additional test to prove that his story is not correct.
