Instagram tells me I need SD Card on HTC Desire C?

So I got a HTC Desire C about 3 days ago and downloaded Instagram. It's the first thing I've downloaded on the phone so it's not like the phone is clogged up with a bunch of other stuff.
However, whenever I try to take a picture, it tells me I need an SD Card to do so. I know I've certainly got enough room on the actual internal storage to take a picture so:
1) Why can't I do this?
2) How do I fix this?
