Why does my monitor keep flickering?

My monitor keeps flickering like an eye . The mouse still moves and sound is all good but every 2 seconds it turns black and does that for like 2-3 hours . How do i fix it ?
I only see the actual screen for only 2 seconds and the black screen for 2 seconds :3

Have you checked all of the connections? Are the proper video drivers installed? Check for updated video drivers first, and if they're up to date try to reinstall them. If that fails or doesn't solve the problem try the following. It's possible that the power or VGA/DVI cable became loose. Also it's also possible that your video card may be failing or over heating. Check connections first, then open up the case to see if the video card is seated properly. If there is no video card and your monitor plugs directly into the motherboard check your fans and make sure they're clear of debris and dust.
