Instagram is only for iPhone and Android phones. You would need third-party software to sneak into it via Mac OS.

An example is "Visual Grub" from the App Store on the Mac's Dock. It allows use of an already created Instagram account while in Mac OS. You must first create an Instagram account from your phone.
