How can I disable "People You May Know" option on FaceBook?
I find this People Who May Know option irritating. I know none of the people (they are all from the Falkirk area - I have no connections with Scotland at all!) I'd rather just search for people I do know and Request a Friend. My guess is though it can't be disabled

When I joined Facebook, the first person to appear on "People you may know" was my niece. She was not in my contacts list. She has never had the same surname as me. I'd love to know the algorithm used by Facebook - it smacks of Big Brother.

Not a feature that can be turned off, suggesting people you may
know simply because your friends know them. If you were friends you would have already added them! If it's a list of people you may know then its just as much a list of people you may not want to know, now that's bad because it's reminding you of people that you may not like. This feature is compromising the privacy of individuals by cataloging details of their friends and family, I sure as hell don't want to be friends with my best friend's mum. It's encouraging people to steal friends from each other. Its insulting and rude. |
